The available data on variant occurrences in the general population are insufficient to allow any conclusion about variant significance. c.260C>T has been reported in the literature in several familial members without clinical phenotype and also in a patient with unspecified Thalassemia (example, Celebiler_2012, Tan_2021). These report(s) do not provide unequivocal conclusions about association of the variant with Beta Thalassemia.
