NM_001031681.2:c.(225+1_226-1)_(852+1_853-1)del was classified as Pathogenic for Cystinosis by Sydney Genome Diagnostics, Children's Hospital Westmead: This patient is compound heterozygous for two overlapping deletions, c.[(?_-470)_(*808_?)del];[(225+1_226-1)_(852+1_853-1)del], in the CTNS gene. The c.[(?_-470)_(*808_?)del] (aprroximately 62kb) is the most common CTNS mutation in cystinosis among northern Europeans and is found in homozygous state in approximately 50% of of these patients (OMIM # 219800). The c.[(225+1_226-1)_(852+1_853-1)del] (approximately 6kb) removes part of CTNS gene from exon 6 to exon 10 and is a novel deletion and considered pathogenic
