NM_000051.4(ATM):c.7834del (p.Arg2612fs) was classified as Pathogenic for Ataxia-telangiectasia syndrome by Women's Health and Genetics/Laboratory Corporation of America, LabCorp, citing LabCorp Variant Classification Summary - May 2015: Variant summary: ATM c.7834delA (p.Arg2612GlyfsX19) results in a premature termination codon, predicted to cause a truncation of the encoded protein or absence of the protein due to nonsense mediated decay, which are commonly known mechanisms for disease. The variant was absent in 250816 control chromosomes (gnomAD). To our knowledge, no occurrence of c.7834delA in individuals affected with Ataxia-Telangiectasia and no experimental evidence demonstrating its impact on protein function have been reported. Two ClinVar submitters have assessed the variant since 2014: both classified the variant as pathogenic. Based on the evidence outlined above, the variant was classified as pathogenic.
