Uncertain significance — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NR_033294.2(SNORD118):n.103G>A, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant occurs in the SNORD118 gene, which encodes an RNA molecule that does not result in a protein product. This variant is present in population databases (rs562912181, gnomAD 0.007%). This variant has been observed in individual(s) with leukoencephalopathy with calcifications and cysts (PMID: 27571260). In at least one individual the data is consistent with being in trans (on the opposite chromosome) from a pathogenic variant. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 929271). In summary, the available evidence is currently insufficient to determine the role of this variant in disease. Therefore, it has been classified as a Variant of Uncertain Significance.
