Submitter rationale: Variant summary: GALT c.632G>C (p.Ser211Thr) results in a conservative amino acid change located in the Galactose-1-phosphate uridyl transferase, C-terminal domain of the encoded protein sequence. Four of five in-silico tools predict a benign effect of the variant on protein function. The variant allele was found at a frequency of 0.00014 in 251478 control chromosomes, predominantly at a frequency of 0.0018 within the East Asian subpopulation in the gnomAD database. This frequency is not significantly higher than expected for a pathogenic variant in GALT causing Galactosemia (0.00014 vs 0.0029), allowing no conclusion about variant significance.
