Pathogenic for Bardet-Biedl syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to Single allele, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This sequence change creates a premature translational stop signal (p.Ala406Glnfs*65) in the BBS1 gene. It is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with BBS1-related conditions. Loss-of-function variants in BBS1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 12118255). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
