Uncertain significance for Cardiovascular phenotype — the classification assigned by Ambry Genetics to NM_006440.5(TXNRD2):c.571C>T (p.Arg191Trp), citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.R191W variant (also known as c.571C>T), located in coding exon 7 of the TXNRD2 gene, results from a C to T substitution at nucleotide position 571. The arginine at codon 191 is replaced by tryptophan, an amino acid with dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is highly conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, the in silico prediction for this alteration is inconclusive. The evidence for this gene-disease relationship is limited; therefore, the clinical significance of this alteration is unclear.
