Pathogenic for Neurofibromatosis, type 1 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.11:g.(?_31218985)_(31222471_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): Loss-of-function variants in NF1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 10712197, 23913538). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with NF1-related conditions. This variant is an out-of-frame deletion of the genomic region encompassing exons 14-15 of the NF1 gene. This is expected to create a premature translational stop signal and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
