NC_000011.10:g.(?_44096233)_(44244388_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Exostoses, multiple, type 2 by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. Loss-of-function variants in EXT2 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 10679937, 19810120). A similar copy number variant has been observed in several individuals affected with hereditary multiple osteochondromatosis (PMID: 12239711, 22382802). A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the EXT2 gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes.
