Pathogenic for Bardet-Biedl syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000011.10:g.(?_66523446)_(66524211_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is an out-of-frame deletion of the genomic region encompassing exons 10-11 of the BBS1 gene. This is expected to create a premature translational stop signal and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with BBS1-related conditions. Loss-of-function variants in BBS1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 12118255). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
