Pathogenic for Duchenne muscular dystrophy — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.11:g.(?_31260945)_(31261664_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon 63 of the DMD gene. This out-of-frame deletion creates a premature translational stop signal and is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in DMD are known to be pathogenic. A similar deletion has been reported in the literature in individuals affected with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (PMID: 19937601, 23695957). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
