Pathogenic for Gorlin syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000009.12:g.(?_95446912)_(95516818_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the PTCH1 gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Similar deletions of the full coding sequence have been observed in individuals affected with Gorlin syndrome (PMID: 22382802, 17703323). Loss-of-function variants in PTCH1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 16301862, 16419085). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
