Pathogenic for Lesch-Nyhan syndrome; Partial hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase deficiency — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.11:g.(?_134500010)_(134500097_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. A similar deletion of exon 9 has been observed in individual(s) with Lesch-Nyhan syndrome (PMID: 15505382, 23975452). This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon 9 of the HPRT1 gene. The 5' boundary is likely confined to intron 8. The 3' end of this event is unknown as it extends through the termination codon beyond the assayed region for this gene and may encompass additional genes. While this deletion is not anticipated to result in nonsense mediated decay, it is expected to create a truncated protein product or disrupt mRNA translation.
