Pathogenic for Hypohidrotic X-linked ectodermal dysplasia — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.11:g.(?_69957007)_(69957152_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individuals with ectodermal dysplasia (PMID: 8696334, 23293949, 27305980; Invitae). This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 2 of the EDA gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in EDA are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9683615).
