Pathogenic for Bardet-Biedl syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000015.10:g.(?_72709680)_(72712327_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 3-4 of the BBS4 gene. This variant would be expected to be in-frame, preserving the integrity of the reading frame. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individuals with Bardet-Biedl syndrome (PMID: 11381270). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
