NC_000016.10:g.(?_68737406)_(68833509_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Hereditary diffuse gastric cancer by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the CDH1 gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in an individual affected with esophagogastric cancer (PMID: 26556299). Loss-of-function variants in CDH1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 15235021, 20373070). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
