Pathogenic for Fabry disease — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.11:g.(?_101403791)_(101404005_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 2 of the GLA gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in GLA are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 10666480, 12175777). A similar copy number variant has been observed in individuals with Fabry disease (PMID: 15091117, 15806320, 17437606, 28728877). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
