This variant causes a frameshift by deleting a single nucleotide, so it is predicted to result in a truncated protein or mRNA subject to nonsense-mediated decay. Additionally, several downstream frameshift variants have been described in individuals with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and are considered pathogenic (Abdalla 2003, McDonald 2011, Wehner 2006).
