Pathogenic for Hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000002.12:g.(?_47783224)_(47806870_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the MSH6 gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Deletion of the entire MSH6 gene has been reported in individuals affected with endometrial cancer and colorectal cancer (PMID: 24323032, 28135145) and in a family from the Danish hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) register (PMID: 18566915). Loss-of-function variants in MSH6 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 18269114, 24362816). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
