Pathogenic for Duchenne muscular dystrophy — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.11:g.(?_32484899)_(32699313_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is an in-frame deletion of the genomic region encompassing exons 8-21 of the DMD gene. It preserves the integrity of the reading frame. This variant has been observed in several individuals affected with Duchenne (DMD) and/or Becker (BMD) Muscular Dystrophy  (PMID: 17259292, 18752307, Invitae). In-frame exonic deletions in DMD are typically pathogenic (PMID: 19937601, 20485447). Sub-genic deletions encompassing exons 9-13 have been determined to be pathogenic (PMID: 17259292, 25482253, 18752307, 18055393, 14641995, 28181689). Therefore, deletions that fully encompass that region are also expected to be pathogenic. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
