NC_000005.10:g.(?_147824641)_(147831792_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Hereditary pancreatitis by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the SPINK1 gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A deletion encompassing the entire coding sequence of the SPINK1 gene has been reported in an individual affected with chronic pancreatitis (PMID: 17681820). Loss-of-function variants in SPINK1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 14722925,17681820). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
