Pathogenic for Duchenne muscular dystrophy — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.11:g.(?_32595737)_(32823850_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): The region of the DMD gene that includes exon(s) 5-9 has been determined to be clinically significant (PMID: 12920092, 16030524, 20031633, 21520333, 24292997, 25482253, 26745801). Therefore, deletions that encompass that region are likely to be disease-causing. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individuals with DMD-related dystrophinopathies (PMID: 19937601). This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 5-13 of the DMD gene. This variant would be expected to be in-frame, preserving the integrity of the reading frame. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
