NC_000019.10:g.(?_13359586)_(13359819_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Episodic ataxia type 2; Developmental and epileptic encephalopathy, 42 by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individuals with episodic ataxia (PMID: 19586927, 19633872). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 6 of the CACNA1A gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in CACNA1A are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 10371528, 19486177, 25735478, 27250579).
