Pathogenic for Ataxia-telangiectasia syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000011.9:g.(?_108137888)_(108225611_?)dup, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant results in a copy number gain of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 17-61 of the ATM gene. While the exact position of this variant cannot be determined from the data, sub-genic copy number gains are generally in tandem (PMID: 25640679). This variant is predicted to be in-frame, and likely preserves the integrity of the reading frame. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of ataxia-telangiectasia (Invitae). In at least one individual the data is consistent with being in trans (on the opposite chromosome) from a pathogenic variant. It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
