Pathogenic for Duchenne muscular dystrophy — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NM_004006.3(DMD):c.650-1827_771del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing a portion of exon 8 of the DMD gene, including the intron 7-exon 8 boundary (c.650-1828_770del). This is expected to create a premature translational stop signal and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with DMD-related disease. Loss-of-function variants in DMD are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 16770791, 25007885). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
