Pathogenic for Microcephaly-intellectual disability-sensorineural hearing loss-epilepsy-abnormal muscle tone syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000004.12:g.(?_123056367)_(123057308_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 12-13 of the SPATA5 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in SPATA5 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 26299366). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with SPATA5-related conditions. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
