Pathogenic for Hereditary breast ovarian cancer syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000013.11:g.(?_32376664)_(32376797_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is an out-of-frame deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon 21 of the BRCA2 gene. This is expected to create a premature translational stop signal and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. This variant has been reported in two individuals affected with breast and/or ovarian cancer (PMID: 16551709, 27257965). Loss-of-function variants in BRCA2 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 20104584). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
