NC_000017.10:g.(?_41243446)_(41276119_?)dup was classified as Uncertain significance for Hereditary breast ovarian cancer syndrome by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): Duplication of exons 2-10 has not been reported in the literature in individuals with BRCA1-related disease. In summary, the available evidence is currently insufficient to determine the role of this variant in disease. Therefore, it has been classified as a Variant of Uncertain Significance. This variant is a gross duplication of the genomic region encompassing exons 2-10 of the BRCA1 gene. The 5' end of this event is unknown as it extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. The 3' boundary is likely confined to intron 10 of the BRCA1 gene. The exact location of this variant in the genome is unknown.
