NM_004522.3(KIF5C):c.265TCA[1] (p.Ser90del) was classified as Pathogenic by GeneDx, citing GeneDx Variant Classification (06012015): The c.268_270delTCA pathogenic variant in the KIF5C gene has not been reported previously as a pathogenic variant, nor as a benign variant, to our knowledge. The c.268_270delTCA variant causes an in-frame deletion of one amino acid, Serine 90, denoted p.Ser90del. In-silico analyses, including protein predictors and evolutionary conservation, support a deleterious effect. The c.268_270delTCA variant is not observed in large population cohorts (Lek et al., 2016). We interpret c.268_270delTCA as a likely pathogenic variant.
