NM_001023.4(RPS20):c.96G>C (p.Leu32Phe) was classified as Uncertain significance by Ambry Genetics, citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.L32F variant (also known as c.96G>C), located in coding exon 2 of the RPS20 gene, results from a G to C substitution at nucleotide position 96. The leucine at codon 32 is replaced by phenylalanine, an amino acid with highly similar properties. This amino acid position is highly conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be deleterious by in silico analysis. Based on the available evidence, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear.
