This Copy Number Variant (CNV) is predicted to result in an in-frame deletion within this gene. Loss-of-function variants in this gene are known to be pathogenic. The variant was absent in 16111 control chromosomes. c.(93+1_94-1)_(1602+1_1603-1)del has been observed in multiple individuals affected with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy or Becker Muscular Dystrophy (e.g. Muntoni_1994, Dastur_2008, Lim_2011, Ling_2020, Sawahreh_2025).
