Submitter rationale: This sequence change replaces glycine, which is neutral and non-polar, with serine, which is neutral and polar, at codon 1652 of the COL5A1 protein (p.Gly1652Ser). This variant also falls at the last nucleotide of exon 62, which is part of the consensus splice site for this exon. This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of COL5A1-related conditions (internal data).
