Submitter rationale: This sequence change replaces phenylalanine, which is neutral and non-polar, with leucine, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 52 of the GJA8 protein (p.Phe52Leu). This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with autosomal dominant congenital cataracts (PMID: 31842807; internal data).
