This variant lies in the CLCN1 gene (transcript NM_000083.3) at coding-DNA position 239, where A is replaced by G; at the protein level this means replaces lysine at residue 80 with arginine — a missense variant. Submitter rationale: This sequence change replaces lysine, which is basic and polar, with arginine, which is basic and polar, at codon 80 of the CLCN1 protein (p.Lys80Arg). This variant is present in population databases (no rsID available, gnomAD 0.006%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with CLCN1-related conditions.
