Submitter rationale: This sequence change creates a premature translational stop signal (p.Arg94*) in the TMC6 gene. It is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in TMC6 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 15042430, 17139267). This variant is present in population databases (rs121908327, gnomAD 0.02%), including at least one homozygous and/or hemizygous individual. This premature translational stop signal has been observed in individual(s) with epidermodysplasia verruciformis (PMID: 12426567).
