Algorithms developed to predict the effect of missense changes on protein structure and function all suggest that this variant is likely to be disruptive. The variant allele was found at a frequency of 4e-06 in 251430 control chromosomes (gnomAD). c.457A>G has been observed in individuals affected with inherited retinal degenerations (Avila-Fernandez_2010, Lopez-Rodriguez_2021, Testa_2022).
