NM_004991.4(MECOM):c.1015C>A (p.Arg339Ser) was classified as Uncertain significance for Inborn genetic diseases by Ambry Genetics, citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.R339S variant (also known as c.1015C>A), located in coding exon 7 of the MECOM gene, results from a C to A substitution at nucleotide position 1015. The arginine at codon 339 is replaced by serine, an amino acid with dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is conserved. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be deleterious by in silico analysis. Based on the available evidence, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear.
