Pathogenic for Hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.11:g.(?_43090938)_(43106539_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is an out-of-frame deletion of the genomic region encompassing exons 4-11 of the BRCA1 gene. This is expected to create a premature translational stop signal and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Deletion of exons 4-11 has not been reported in the literature in individuals with BRCA1-related disease. Loss-of-function variants in BRCA1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 20104584). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
