Pathogenic for Saethre-Chotzen syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000007.14:g.(?_19116693)_(19117341_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the TWIST1 gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Loss-of-function variants in TWIST1 are known to be pathogenic. Whole-gene deletions have been reported in individuals affected with Saethre-Chotzen syndrome (PMID: 26114524, 9792856, 22382802). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
