NM_001023.4(RPS20):c.92C>G (p.Ser31Cys) was classified as Uncertain significance by Ambry Genetics, citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.S31C variant (also known as c.92C>G), located in coding exon 2 of the RPS20 gene, results from a C to G substitution at nucleotide position 92. The serine at codon 31 is replaced by cysteine, an amino acid with dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is highly conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be deleterious by in silico analysis. Based on the available evidence, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear.
