Pathogenic for Duchenne muscular dystrophy — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.10:g.(?_32305626)_(32509655_?)dup, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): Loss-of-function variants, including gross duplications, in DMD are known to be pathogenic. Duplication of exons 20-43 has been reported in the literature in an individual affected with Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy (PMID: 17561468). This variant is a gross duplication of the genomic region encompassing exons 20-43 of the DMD gene. While the exact position of the duplicated exons cannot be determined from this data, the duplicated copy of this region is likely in tandem and may result in an absent or disrupted protein product. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
