NC_000023.10:g.(?_31747728)_(31893510_?)dup was classified as Pathogenic for Duchenne muscular dystrophy by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross duplication of the genomic region encompassing exons 45-52 of the DMD gene. While the exact position of the duplicated exons cannot be determined from this data, the duplicated copy of this region is likely in tandem and may result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in DMD are known to be pathogenic. A gross duplication encompassing the same exons has been reported in the literature in an individual affected with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (PMID: 12111668). A specific phenotype was not reported for 2 additional muscular dystrophy patients reported to have a similar duplication (PMID: 16917894, 21969337). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
