Pathogenic for Retinitis pigmentosa — the classification assigned by Women's Health and Genetics/Laboratory Corporation of America, LabCorp to NM_001142800.2(EYS):c.9102dup (p.Asn3035Ter), citing LabCorp Variant Classification Summary - May 2015: Variant summary: EYS c.9102dupT (p.Asn3035X) results in a premature termination codon, predicted to cause a truncation of the encoded protein or absence of the protein due to nonsense mediated decay, which are commonly known mechanisms for disease. The variant was absent in 156262 control chromosomes. To our knowledge, no occurrence of c.9102dupT in individuals affected with EYS-related conditions and no experimental evidence demonstrating its impact on protein function have been reported. Several truncating variants downstream of this change has been classified as pathogenic by our low lab. No submitters have cited clinical-significance assessments for this variant to ClinVar. Based on the evidence outlined above, the variant was classified as pathogenic.
