Pathogenic for Brugada syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000003.12:g.(?_38633035)_(38633359_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon 2 of the SCN5A gene, which includes the initiator codon. The 5' end of this event is unknown as it extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. The 3' boundary is likely confined to intron 2 of the SCN5A gene. This is expected to result in an absent or truncated protein. While this particular variant has not been reported in the literature, truncating variants in SCN5A are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 20129283, 22789973). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
