Single allele was classified as Uncertain significance for Neuromuscular disease by Broad Center for Mendelian Genomics, Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, citing ACMG/ClinGen CNV Guidelines, 2019: The heterozygous deletion ([GRCh 38] chr11:64193429_64199502x1) in STIP1 was identified by our study/laboratory in 1 individual with neuromuscular disease. While this gene is still lacking sufficient evidence to establish haploinsufficiency, we believe this is a possible candidate for neuromuscular disease. Given the limited information about this gene, the significance of the deletion variant is uncertain. If you have any additional information about functional evidence or other individuals with neuromuscular disease that also have similar deletions we encourage you to reach out to us.
