This variant lies in the MMAB gene (transcript NM_052845.4) at coding-DNA position 260, where G is replaced by T; at the protein level this means replaces glycine at residue 87 with valine — a missense variant. Submitter rationale: Variant summary: MMAB c.260G>T (p.Gly87Val) results in a non-conservative amino acid change in the encoded protein sequence. Five of five in-silico tools predict a damaging effect of the variant on protein function. The variant allele was found at a frequency of 4e-06 in 251494 control chromosomes. c.260G>T has been reported in the literature in an individual affected with Methylmalonic Acidemia (Pajares_2021).
