Uncertain significance for Inborn genetic diseases — the classification assigned by Ambry Genetics to NM_001753.5(CAV1):c.158A>G (p.Asn53Ser), citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.N53S variant (also known as c.158A>G), located in coding exon 2 of the CAV1 gene, results from an A to G substitution at nucleotide position 158. The asparagine at codon 53 is replaced by serine, an amino acid with highly similar properties. This amino acid position is conserved. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be tolerated by in silico analysis. Based on the available evidence, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear.
