Submitter rationale: This sequence change replaces aspartic acid, which is acidic and polar, with alanine, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 501 of the KCNH2 protein (p.Asp501Ala). This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with long QT syndrome (Invitae). In at least one individual the variant was observed to be de novo.
