Uncertain significance for Inborn genetic diseases — the classification assigned by Ambry Genetics to NM_012434.5(SLC17A5):c.580G>C (p.Glu194Gln), citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.E194Q variant (also known as c.580G>C), located in coding exon 4 of the SLC17A5 gene, results from a G to C substitution at nucleotide position 580. The glutamic acid at codon 194 is replaced by glutamine, an amino acid with highly similar properties. This amino acid position is conserved. In addition, the in silico prediction for this alteration is inconclusive. Based on the available evidence, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear.
