Pathogenic for Acute intermittent porphyria — the classification assigned by Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, India to NM_000190.4(HMBS):c.160_160+1del, citing ACMG Guidelines, 2015: The variant c.160_160+1del is likely to cause aberrant splicing and the resultant transcript is predicted to undergo nonsense-mediated mRNA decay or a truncated protein. The clinical features observed in the proband, and his mother are in concordance with prophyria, acute intermittent, nonerythroid variant. Thus the above mentioned variant in the heterozygous state is the cause of the condition observed in the proband and his mother.
